Do girls do better in the UCAT?

3 years ago by Rob
Girls in general get better grades in school and university in general than boys - so come on guys, get your act together!
But here’s a surprise: boys in general outscore girls in aptitude tests. There may be several reasons for this such as:
- Boys treat aptitude tests as a game to be beaten and strategise
- Boys are less likely to be risk averse: an advantage in aptitude tests
- School and university tests/exams reward hardwork, whereas aptitude tests reward skills
But wait a minute: In the UCAT however, there is no discernible difference in the overall UCAT scores between boys and girls because the Verbal Reasoning and SJT subtests advantage girls. MedEntry UCAT training provides strategies on how to identify and work on your weaknesses.
