FREE UCAT Packages for Rural South Australians!

4 months ago by Chris
Pursuing a career in medicine begins with success in the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) – a critical hurdle for aspiring medical students. For rural students, accessing quality UCAT preparation can be challenging due to geographical isolation and limited resources.
MedEntry is proud to partner with the government-funded Rural Doctors Workforce Agency (RDWA) to provide free UCAT Packages for rural South Australians.
This initiative is part of MedEntry's broader commitment to healthcare equity and addressing rural doctor shortages across Australia.
What is RDWA?
RDWA, or the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency, is a government-funded organisation dedicated to providing a workforce to enhance the health and wellbeing of rural communities in South Australia. With rural areas facing significant healthcare professional shortages, RDWA works to develop sustainable solutions that improve health outcomes for rural residents.
Why does RDWA provide a UCAT Preparation Grant?
Research consistently shows that medical professionals who originate from rural backgrounds are significantly more likely to return to rural practice after qualifying. Therefore, there is a clear need to encourage students living in rural and regional priority areas and who are interested in studying medicine, to pursue their dream of becoming a doctor.
By supporting rural students on their path to medical school, this program addresses a critical pipeline issue in rural healthcare delivery. The MedEntry-RDWA partnership specifically targets this challenge by removing financial barriers to high-quality UCAT preparation, helping young people living in rural South Australia to compete effectively for limited medical school places.
