Why You Should Start Preparing For UCAT Now

Why You Should Start Preparing For UCAT Now

3 years ago by Rob

For those in year 11, UCAT may seem like a distant hurdle. However, if you want to be a doctor, UCAT is vitally important. In many cases it is as important, if not more important, than your high school score in determining entry into medicine!

Furthermore, UCAT is very different to standard knowledge-based exams that you have encountered at school or university. UCAT is an aptitude test which assesses your skills. Skills are best developed over time, with a little bit of practice on a regular basis. In fact, it is very difficult to learn a skill by cramming. For example, could you learn how to swim freestyle or ride a bicycle within a day? Unlikely. These skills are best learned over time, through demonstration of the process and practice. It is the same with UCAT.

First, you will need to understand the basics of UCAT (check out https://www.medentry.edu.au/what-is-ucat-and-how-to-prepare-for-it for more information). Then you will need to acquire strategies to approach each type of question in each of the five UCAT subtests, as well as general strategies to boost your UCAT performance (covered in detail in MedEntry’s UCAT courses). Finally, you will need to practice! UCAT practice is best undertaken on a regular basis, for example, weekly. MedEntry provides plenty of practice with 16 full length UCAT exams, UCAT subtest mocks, drills and more!

Unlike most other UCAT preparation companies which limit access to UCAT resources for weeks or months, MedEntry offers unlimited access to all resources all the way until the end of July 2020! We make it even easier by ensuring you can access your UCAT resources anywhere, any time and any place: on a desktop, laptop, mobile device or tablet. In fact, MedEntry is the only UCAT preparation organisation with a dedicated UCAT smartphone app.

This is because we know, from our decades of experience, that the best way to prepare for UCAT is with a little bit of preparation on a regular basis.

So what are you waiting for?
